"Protests" in Islamabad





Police arrest then beat a demonstrator in Islamabad, Pakistan on Sunday, February 19, 2006. Muslims demonstrating against European publications of cartoons depicting the prophet Mohammed clashed with police for several hours, in spite of a ban on all protests and marches throughout Islamabad. Riots have spread throughout Pakistan in the last week leaving 5 people dead and dozens injured. Islamic communities all over the world have staged both peaceful and violent demonstrations in response to the publication of cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed.
