GAY GUN OWNERS

GAY GUN OWNERS [Their title not mine]

Pink Pistols
-----------------------

Now I'm all for anyone, authorized by law and of a sound mind, carrying a gun. I think it makes for a safer society when law abiding citizens have the capability and ability, through state self defense laws, to take care of goblins when their life or the lives of others are in danger and cops aren't around.

So if a bunch of gays want to get together and defend the Second Amendment more power to them. I just don't think when they want to use "hate crimes" as an excuse is right. I don't agree with the whole "hate crime" thing anyway. A crime is a crime is a crime. It doesn't matter what the person was thinking at the time. If you assault a person, you assault them. It doesn't matter if they're gay or straight, they're just assaulted.

To quote from the story.

"And if some redneck decides he's going to harass or harm me, he'll be thinking twice about it pretty quickly."

"I'm not going to a gun range. There's this macho good ol' boy thing going on."

"Some redneck", "good ol' boy thing" .... Say what? Who's the bigot there?

And this really gets me.

The case of Wyoming 21-year-old Matthew Shepard, who was beaten, tied to a fence post and left to die in 1998, has been a powerful Pistols recruiting tool.

''That frightened the hell out of everyone,'' said Gwen Patton, national spokeswoman for the Pennsylvania-based Pistols. 'It made a lot of people think, `Do I ever want to find myself alone without protection of any kind?' ''

Really? I wonder if they think 13 year olds should be allowed to carry too?

------------------

And I'll have to read up on this, it just sounds wrong.

Jackson said the local chapter will educate members on gun use and laws, including a new state law that will take effect this fall that allows anyone to open fire when they have a ''reasonable belief'' they are in danger.

When carrying a gun there's one very important thing you must realize. There's lawyer attached to every bullet you fire.

Oh yeah one other thing and it's a pet peeve of mine.

" 'I love this one, because the bullets just fly out and you don't have to reload,' he said, ejecting a clip from a nickel-plated .45-caliber semiautomatic Smith & Wesson."

This is a clip.....

Used like so in a M1Garand

This is what is what he ejected, it's not a clip IT'S A MAGAZINE!
