Operation Crayon Provides Supplies, Hope

It's deeds like this that break down the terrorists' mantra that the US Solider is only there to conquer.

Troops distribute donated school supplies to children, teachers.

DIBBIS, Iraq, March 14, 2005 — U.S. soldiers assigned to the 116th Brigade Combat Team’s 1st Battalion, 148th Field Artillery, recently delivered a little bit of hope to a small school north of Kirkuk, thanks to literally hundreds of unseen donors.

The school supplies were donated and shipped to Iraq by individuals and organizations in the United States. Once the supplies arrived in Iraq, coalition soldiers packaged them into standard packages and delivered them to local authorities for distribution. Operation Crayon is charitable program that gives schools pencils, crayons, papers and other materials necessary to teach children.
